On 30 June 2026, 4.41 million non-EU nationals who had fled Ukraine were receiving temporary protection in the EU. This represented a rise of 24,380 people (+0.6%) compared with the end of May 2026.
The largest numbers of beneficiaries were in Germany (1,286,230; 29.2% of the EU total), Poland (961,170; 21.8%) and Czechia (390,810; 8.9%).
Between the end of May and 30 June 2026, the number of people under temporary protection increased in 24 of the 27 EU Member States. The biggest absolute increases were recorded in Italy (+4,115; +8.8%), Czechia (+3,835; +1.0%) and Germany (+2,960; +0.2%). The three countries with decreases were Poland (-6,335; -0.7%), Belgium (-35; -0.04%) and Ireland (-15; -0.01%).
