Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Andrii Nebitov said that 50,150 people are currently considered missing.

“The war changed the scope of a search work. Before the war, during all the years of independence, 12,292 people were considered missing. With the beginning of the russian invasion, the number of missing persons increased 4 times,” said the law enforcement officer.

He noted that the collection of information, data verification, and the implementation of search activities are complicated by the unpredictable situation on the front line, mass attacks on peaceful cities, migration of people, and temporary occupation of territories.
