“A war has been going on in Ukraine since 2014, and with the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the russian Federation, the scale of war crimes has increased. One of them is sexual violence. And, unfortunately, this is the most hushed-up and the least convicted crime. There is no age or gender for violence – it is committed by russian soldiers against Ukrainian women, girls, men and boys,” Lubinets said. The General Prosecutor’s Office registered 235 cases of sexual violence so far. The age of the victims ranges from 4 to 82 years.
According to Lubinets, currently, the largest number of cases of sexual violence have been recorded in the Kherson region – 72, in the Kyiv region – 52, in the Donetsk region – 55, in the Kharkiv region – 21, in the Zaporizhia region – 15, in the Chernihiv region – 6, in the Luhansk region – 3, in Mykolayiv region – 9, in Sumy region – 2.
