Two citizens of Ukraine killed in the German city of Murnau am Staffelsee were military personnel and were undergoing rehabilitation in Germany. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in a statement.

“According to preliminary data, the deceased citizens were soldiers undergoing medical rehabilitation in Germany. Ukrainian consuls are clarifying information about the units in which the deceased served and establishing contact with their families,” the MFA said.

According to the information of the General Consulate of Ukraine in Munich, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police detained a 57-year-old citizen of the russian Federation on suspicion of double murder. The investigation is currently ongoing.
