Certification of foreign territories is a favorite russian trick. First, passports are distributed, and then moscow begins to make claims to foreign lands. This began under Yeltsin, when russian passports were handed out in Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and, by the way, in Crimea. In 2008, “protecting the interests of russian citizens” served as a justification for the russian attack on Georgia and the actual annexation of its autonomies. Now almost the same trick is being played with the Ukrainian regions.
It can be said that russia is not the only state that distributes its passports to “compatriots”: Hungary is doing this in neighboring countries, Romania … But only Hungary – even under Orban – needs Hungarians, with whom it does not want to lose historical ties, Romania – Romanians. And russia does not care about russians and “russian-speaking” people. Were we not convinced of this when the russians bombed Kharkiv and Mariupol, or now, when Bakhmut and Severodonetsk are being wiped off the face of the earth? Don’t we remember that when the Turkmen ruler Saparmurat Niyazov decided to ditch the agreement with russia on dual citizenship and deprive them of their russian passports, moscow simply chose not to notice this – because Turkmen gas is more important than some russians.

And “compatriots” from other countries are not even insects for him, but just a tool for the occupation of these countries. He is ready to destroy civilians with ballistic missiles, let women and children be torn to pieces by his own wild army, and give russian passports to those who survive after shelling and rape – so that they can shoot and kill further, already in the next regions intended for destruction.
That, in fact, is the whole point of all putin’s special operations – both military and passport. The point is to kill.
