Hungary under Viktor Orban betrays the European Union [EU] and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO], InformNapalm, a volunteer intelligence community, reported.
Official docs prove: after the start of russia’s war on Ukraine, Hungary’s Ministry of Defense initiated direct military-technical contact with the sanctioned “russian Helicopters” company for Mi-17 and Mi-24 repairs.
On January 30, 2017, the Hungarian military attaché at the embassy in moscow, Colonel Sandor Juhasz, sent an official request to russian Helicopters with a request to prepare a commercial offer for the overhaul of Mi-17 (1 unit) and Mi-24 (13 units) helicopters belonging to the Hungarian Ministry of Defense.
The letter was sent on behalf of the State Secretary for Administrative Affairs at the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, Laszlo Firitz. The document is certified with the official seal of the embassy and registered under the number: No. 1682/336-18/2017.
This letter is a direct initiation of a new contact with the russian defense company. The addressee is the main structure of Rostec, which has been under the EU sanctions since 2014.
This document has official status and is signed by the current representative of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense and records direct cooperation between a member of the EU and NATO and the aggressor’s defense enterprise.
And this is a violation of the sanctions regime, undermining the political decisions of the European Union, and a fact of assisting the russian military machine.
We regard the actions of the Hungarian regime as a betrayal of NATO’s common security policy and complicity in supporting the russian army. We appeal to our partners with the following request:
- This document must be transferred to the European anti-fraud office (OLAF) and the EU anti-corruption structures
- It is imperative to provide a legal assessment of the actions of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense
- Conduct an appropriate parliamentary investigation at the EU level
- Include the persons involved in the sanctions lists
- It is extremely necessary to assess the systematic nature of Budapest’s cooperation with the kremlin.
This is not an isolated incident, but a reflection of the political course of Orban and his subordinates. This is a recorded fact of complicity.
There are renegades in the ranks of the EU and NATO, we will tear off their masks and show their true faces.
This is a clear breach of the EU sanctions and aiding russia’s war machine.
