putin is ready for a temporary truce, provided that the framework of a peace agreement and the parameters of a peacekeeping mission are agreed upon, Bloomberg reported, writes Ukrainian journalist and MP Mykola Kniazhytskyi.

This is another example of how the Kremlin uses Western media to disseminate the messages it needs. russia’s main goal remains unchanged: to disrupt any real negotiations by holding Ukraine responsible for their failure. And, admittedly, we are not doing much to counteract this yet.
Putin has not been and will not be ready for any truce in the near future. He has no motivation for this, and today’s massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities is a clear confirmation of this.
The sole purpose of such information is to influence public opinion in the United States. The Kremlin is trying to create the impression that Russia is supposedly ready for negotiations and a truce, while all the resistance comes from Ukraine, Europe and even China (the latter is especially important for the American audience). The logic is clear: if peace is not achieved, it is supposedly not Russia’s fault, but those who “gave up the opportunity” to negotiate.
Yesterday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio openly admitted that the US administration has no real plan to end the war. Therefore, their entire strategy now is to quickly achieve some kind of truce, and if it fails (and it is guaranteed to fail), to identify those responsible for the failure.
Are the Ukrainian authorities working effectively enough to avoid finding themselves in this role? I will not comment. But it is obvious that countering this tactic of the Kremlin should become one of the main diplomatic tasks.
