Ukraine can export milk and dairy products to Japan

Japan has included Ukraine into the list of countries that can export raw milk and dairy products to the country, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has reported, writes Ukrinform.

Animal Health Requirements for raw milk and/or milk products to be exported to Japan from listed countries have been published. Ukraine is among the listed countries (means countries, regions and zones recognized by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan where exporting raw milk and un-heat-treated milk products to Japan is allowed).

In June 2019, Ukraine exported USD 25.7 million worth of dairy products.

Exports of agricultural products from Ukraine to Japan in 2018 grew by almost 32% compared to 2017 and exceeded USD 112 million.

As reported, Ukraine’s food exports increased by 21.4% during the first five months of this year.
