Ukraine boosts sugar exports by 30%

Ukrainian sugar producers exported 41,300 tons during May 2019, representing a 30% increase on the previous month, according to data released by Ukraine’s National Association of Sugar Producers. 

The key international market for Ukrainian sugar exports in May was Azerbaijan, which accounted for 29% of all deliveries. In second place was Turkey accounting for 17% of Ukrainian sugar exports, followed by Tajikistan, which received 16%. Ukraine is among the 20 largest sugar producers in the world and currently ranks among the top ten global sugar exporters. Ukraine exported 587,000 tons of sugar in 2018 with a value of USD 217 million.
