Since the start of a full-scale russian invasion, 167 children have already died due to warfare in Ukraine, Chief Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
“As of the morning, of April 6th, 2022, more than 446 children have suffered due to russian military aggression. Amongst them, 167 children have died, and more than 279 children have been wounded”, says the sum-upChief Prosecutor’s Office emphasized, that the number is not final as local authorities continue to carry out their duties in liberated and temporarily occupied territories. Especially in the city of Mariupol, several districts of the Kyiv region, Chernihiv, and Luhansk regions.
“According to the data we have, the biggest number of children suffered is in Kyiv region – 78 children, Donetsk region – 81 children, Kharkiv region – 64, Chernihiv region – 49, Mykolaiv region – 39, Luhansk region – 31, Zaporizhian region – 22, Kherson region – 29, in the Kyiv city – 16, Sumy region – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15”, says the Prosecutor’s Office.
In particular, investigation authorities have discovered, that on April 4th, two children were injured due to the russian shelling of the Avdiivka, Donetsk region.
“Forced deportation to russia is still ongoing, As such, 12 children were forcefully taken from the regional skeletal and tuberculosis hospital of Mariupol city by the russian soldiers. They were on undergoing treatment”, says the Prosecutor’s Office.
