The russians shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Donetsk region, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.
“The armed forces of the russian Federation systematically and cynically violate the norms of international humanitarian law. On September 3, 2024, the Telegram channel published information about the alleged shooting by representatives of the russian Federation of Ukrainian servicemen,” the PG office said.According to the prosecutor’s office, three soldiers of one of the Armed Forces brigades came out of the basement of the building with their hands raised when the enemy approached them almost up close. The occupiers put them face down on the ground, after which they shot them in the back almost immediately.
“Intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime. Currently, the available data is being checked. A number of investigative actions are being conducted aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the specified event,” Ukraine’s PG office added.
