Those who wished to defend Kyiv were given 25,000 assault rifles, about 10 million rounds of ammunition, RPGs, and grenades, Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrskyi said in a statement.

The official also noted the self-organization of Ukrainians across the country: “I am proud to see how people are protecting towns, villages, streets and houses. They are self-organizing so that there is no looting and looting.”

The police, together with the military, are now providing a reliable rear, as well as counteracting saboteur groups operating in various cities, Monastyrskyi said.
