A court in moscow has arrested John F. Kennedy’s grandnephew, Conor Kennedy, in absentia on charges of “mercenary activity” on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, russian media reported.
Conor Kennedy himself stated that he had decided to join the International Legion because he was deeply moved by the events in Ukraine. Kennedy told almost no one that he was going to war. According to him, he revealed his real name to just one person in Ukraine, as he did not want to be treated any differently there.
“Going in, I had no prior military experience and wasn’t a great shot, but I could carry heavy things and learned fast. I was also willing to die there. So they soon agreed to send me to the northeastern front. My time in Ukraine wasn’t long but I saw a lot and I felt a lot,” he added.
