Gazprom no longer makes enough money exporting gas to subsidize domestic Russian prices, Viktor Yatsenko, deputy head of the state monopoly company’s pricing department, told the Russian Gas forum. Referring to the drop in European prices, he said: “The pillow is gone.”

According to him, the time when the export market was able to support the prices on the domestic market has passed. “I think that the ministries and departments at some point will realize it,” Yatsenko added.
