russian leader vladimir putin ordered the military command to put russian nuclear deterrent forces on high alert.
“Senior officials of leading NATO countries make aggressive statements about our country, so I order the Minister of Defense and the Chief of General Staff to transfer the deterrent forces of the russian army to a special regime of combat duty,” putin said.
The deterrent force in the russian army is a generalized name for the units with strategic and tactical nuclear missiles as their main weapons.
