70% of Ukrainians hurt financially due to russia’s war

As of August 2022, 70% of Ukrainians say they have been hurt financially due to full-scale russia’s war against Ukraine, according to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology poll. About 33% have lost their jobs, the report conducted for the National Democratic Institute shows.

The survey revealed that 40% of Ukrainian men and 35% of Ukrainian women indicate certain financial difficulties, while 34% of men and 26% of women report serious difficulties. According to the report, 95% of respondents stress that they can not live comfortably with the money they now earn.

The share of Ukrainian who lost their homes increased from 6% as of May 2022 to 9% as of August 2022. The percentage of those who lost some other properties also grew from 8% to 10% accordingly.

In addition to financial losses, Ukrainians also experience other issues caused by the war, such as worsening of their mental health (64%), worsening of physical health(48%), and loss of friends or relatives (28%).
