What russia is doing in European countries has already gone beyond hybrid attacks, and NATO must decide how it should respond to this new situation. This was stated on September 1, before the informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland, by Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Security and Defense, ukrinform.ua reported.
The German politician noted that the security situation had deteriorated since the previous meeting in Cyprus: “The number of attacks against us – and these are no longer hybrid attacks but actual attacks – has increased so much that it is time for us to come together and find an answer to the question: how should we deal with these russian attacks?”
According to her, the issue is not limited to countries where drones have appeared or where, as in Poland, a so-called “missile knocked off course” has fallen. What happened in Spain and Morocco is also an attack: the deliberate use of migration to destabilize the continent, the MEP emphasized.
