It is noted that recently, 33 new obituaries have appeared on the website of the project Cargo 200, which documents the deaths of Crimeans who fought for russia in the war against Ukraine, in the last two weeks. The list includes former employees of law enforcement agencies who participated in the occupation of Crimea and fought against the Euromaidan.
One of those liquidated is Yevgeny Kozlov from the village of Lenino – a former employee of the Crimean “Berkut”, who stood at checkpoints in the spring of 2014. Another is Kirill Blazhenko, he participated in the suppression of the Maidan in Kyiv, was an active participant in the occupation of Crimea in 2014.
As journalists from the Radio Liberty Crimea.Realities project found out, Blazhenko was looking for a job as a driver in Yalta in 2017, writing in his resume that from 2010 to 2015 he was the “commander of the reconnaissance airborne detachment”.
Funerals of russian military personnel who died in the war against Ukraine are held almost daily in Crimea. On December 19, 2024, Crimea.Realities published the “Cargo 200” database with the first thousand identified Crimeans who fought in the russian army and died in russia’s war against Ukraine.
The list contains information about the place of birth, the place of conscription or recruitment into the russian army (including the actual military unit), and – for some of the deceased – the exact or approximate place and date of death.
