The amount of damages caused by the russian Federation to the subsoil, atmospheric air, water and land resources of Ukraine reached UAH 8tn [USD 215bn]. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Oleksandr Stavniychuk, ukrinform.ua reported.

“The work continues, we all understand that the main goal is to receive reparations for these damages. But, of course, we want to unify all approaches at the international level,” said Stavniychuk.

He reminded that seven methods developed by the State Environmental Inspection and the State Geology and Subsoil Service are used for the calculation. “I believe that these methods, which are available now, will be partially changed after training. That is, both international experts and our specialists are all working to improve these documents as much as possible. And now our main task is to collect cases,” Stavniychuk added.
