Children’s Rights Commissioner Darya Gerasimchuk stated that up to 300,000 Ukrainian children may have been abducted by the russian military.

She noted that it is difficult to establish the exact number of children who may be affected due to the occupation of a large part of the territory of Ukraine. Gerasimchuk also noted that the russian side does not provide access to these children for any services or organizations and does not confirm these numbers with any lists or personal data.

The Commissioner also emphasized that according to the russian occupiers they “evacuated” more than 744,000 Ukrainian children, which clearly indicates deportation or forced displacement of children.
