River Wind Ukraine plans to build wind and solar power plant with a total capacity of 4 GW
In Dnipro region, River Wind Ukraine plans to build wind and solar power plant with a total capacity of 4 GW on Kakhovka Reservoir, the regional government reports.
The project will become the ‘first hybrid renewable energy park’ in Ukraine. According to the plan, it will cover the area of 210 square kilometers with floating solar panels placed between up to 172 wind turbine towers.
Electricity will be converted into hydrogen by a nearby plant and exported to Germany. “Germany has adopted a strategy to switch the fuel system to hydrogen. However, the country lacks its own capacity to meet its needs. Therefore, they are ready to buy hydrogen, including from our company,” said regional project manager Viktor Dinysyuk. Construction is to start next year.
