In 2018, 14.2 million tourists visited Ukraine, according to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, writes Ukrinfom.

“In 2018, our country was visited by 14.2 million foreign nationals, but we seek to increase this figure to about 30 million tourists annually. This can be reached through the development of tourism opportunities of the capital and regions,” the ministry wrote on its Facebook page.

The ministry also noted that UAH 17 million was allocated for the development of tourism in Ukraine in 2019.”In 2019, we plan to represent our country as an interesting tourist destination at important international exhibitions in London, Singapore, Barcelona and Shanghai,” the ministry wrote.

The State Border Guard Service recorded an increase in the number of tourists from non-border countries, in particular Europe: Spain – 68%, Great Britain – 47.3%, Lithuania – 23.4%, Italy 15.4%, Germany 13, 3%, France – 9.2%, as well as India – 57.4%, China – 38.8%, Japan – 38.3%, Israel – 21.7% and the United States – 19%.

As reported, Kyiv had entered top 10 the most successful European cities for return on budget investment according to the Return on Investment ranking.
