Hungarian far-right and ultra-conservative journalist, whose views have been widely described as racist and antisemitic and one of the closest allies of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Zsolt Bayer, is promoting russian narratives about Ukraine in the Hungarian media.

He questions the existence of Ukrainian culture and the Ukrainian nation as such, illustrating his words with images with russian captions that Ukraine’s territory is not Ukrainian, but allegedly selected or obtained from russia and Poland.

Bayer also used the discussion in Ukraine to reconsider the role of russian literature in Ukraine’s educational and cultural systems, and said it was analogous to the Nazis’ actions against the Jewish nation.
