Germany’s Minister of Defense Christine Lambrecht announced the delivery of 5,000 military protective helmets to Ukraine, traunsteiner-tagblatt.de reported. 

The SPD politician said this to the members of the defense committee in Berlin on Wednesday, according to dpa.

According to the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin Andriy Melnyk, Ukraine has requested arms to defend against a possible russian attack and around 100,000 protective helmets and vests for volunteers.

As reported, the German Navy chief, Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schönbach, said that Ukraine has lost Crimea for good and putin deserves respect.
