Over three in four US respondents support further sanctions on russia to end the war, and most voters think governments that buy russian oil and gas should incur tariffs. The survey was conducted online within the United States on October 1-2, 2025, among 2,413 registered voters by The Harris Poll and HarrisX.
72% of US Democrats and 73% of Republicans think the government should continue to provide weaponry to
Ukraine and impose further economic sanctions on russia if it refuses to negotiate and prolongs the bloodshed.
At the same time, 76% of Democrats and 86% of Republicans think Europe should stop buying oil from russia and instead buy it from the US.
