Zaporizhia-based defense engineering company INFOCOM Ltd has converted the Scorpion robotic platform, designed for frontline reconnaissance missions, into a police robot, Defense Express reports.

The upgraded platform will allow law enforcers to remotely patrol the streets during a pandemic (and in other situations), avoiding direct communication between policemen and civilians.

The robot can be equipped with a net gun, tear gas, a monitor for communication, a thermal imager, etc.

The operator can control the robot directly standing on the platform, by voice, or remotely, via a mobile application. Over long distances, commands are sent using the 3G/LTE network from the operator’s computer set (including voice commands).
