Ukraine signs USD 85.6m contract with Pakistan to repair T-80UD MBTs
Ukraine’s participation in one of the largest arms exhibitions taking place offline is difficult to overestimate, said Vadym Nozdria, Director General of the ‘Ukrspeсexport’ State Company, commenting on the progress at IDEX 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
To confirm this, he said that during the show a contract was signed between Ukrspecexport and Pakistan for the repair of the T-80UD MBTs totalling $85.6 million. “This is the first contract of Ukrspecexport (one of the most systematic and effective special exporters of Ukroboronprom) with Pakistan this year,” said Vadym Nozdria. The issue of expanding cooperation and implementing new projects by the end of 2021 was also discussed with the Pakistani side.
In addition, the Ukrainian delegation has already held a number of talks with the delegations of the UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and reached agreements on cooperation in the fields of high-precision weapons, armoured vehicles, unmanned platforms, engines’ repair etc. This was announced by Yuriy Husyev, Director General of the ‘Ukroboronprom’ State Concern.
“We have every reason to predict that in 2021 we will not only maintain our position in our core markets but also enter new ones – with new products. The Ukrainian defence-industrial complex provides such an opportunity. Therefore, we are planning new foreign economic contracts and expect a significant increase in supplies to foreign markets, and thus – an increase in contributions to the state budget,” Vadym Nozdria commented on the first results of Ukraine’s participation in IDEX 2021.
