Poroshenko: We must protect Ukrainian election from hybrid challenges

The Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko has called on all political forces and candidates for the presidency to observe high standards of free and fair will expression during the presidential election, writes Ukrinform.

“The election process of high quality is the business card of a new Ukraine. In 2014, we set together a decent standard of free and fair expression of will. I urge all political forces and candidates for the highest state post to witness this by their actions,” Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.

The Ukrainian president noted that this year “we must confirm the maturity of a democratic system, as well as ensure proper observation over the presidential campaign by all recognized international organizations.”

“I am sure that international observation over the electoral race is our additional guarantee of the purity of democratic procedures and the competitiveness of the electoral process, as well as a deterrent against external interference. We must together protect the Ukrainian election from hybrid challenges,” Poroshenko said.
