Achieving peace and stability in Ukraine is possible only under the condition of its membership in NATO. Such an opinion was expressed by the American philosopher, Stanford University professor Francis Fukuyama at the Kyiv Security Forum, ukrinform.ua reported.

“It is obvious that it is impossible to achieve peace and stability without Ukraine’s membership in NATO. Every NATO member who has doubts about this should think about what kind of peace agreement is possible so that it is not just a short-term ceasefire so that russia can rearm and rebuild its positions,” Fukuyama said.

The professor also emphasized that under the current conditions, any peace agreements will only give the russian Federation the opportunity to regroup its troops and resume the war after a respite.
