IAEA confirms that russians mined Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

IAEA experts confirmed that the previously reported mines at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) remain in place.

“IAEA experts continued to conduct walkdowns of the ZNPP this week […] The team did not observe any heavy weapons during their walkdowns but confirmed that the previously reported mines remain in place,” the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Mariano Grossi, said in a statement.

Underling the potential dangers for nuclear security during the conflict in Ukraine, the IAEA experts have continued to hear numerous explosions some distance away from the ZNPP.
