The use of payment cards jumped 16.6% YoY during the first half of this year in Ukraine, to 2.74 billion transactions, NBU reports.

During the first half the year, the number of point of sale terminal increased by 5% and the number of cash transactions with cards dropped by 12%, as Ukrainians shift to cashless transactions.

The number of issued cards increased by 5%, to 71.7m. Increasingly popular are contactless and tokenized cards. In June, almost 10 million contactless cards were used, up 25.6% since January.
