European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius has issued a pointed response to putin’s latest remarks on the war in Ukraine.
In a post on X, Kubilius wrote that after discussing with US envoys how to bring peace in putin’s war against Ukraine, putin again announced that the most important thing is to remove the “root causes” of the war.
“The ‘root causes’ of the war are putin himself, his decisions to occupy Crimea in 2014 & full-scale invasion in 2022,” Kubilius wrote.
“This is the first time when I agree with putin: the real ‘root causes’ of the war should be removed!” he added.
