Seven large foreign companies announced about investments in Ukraine
Seven large foreign companies announced about investments totaling $1.1 billion in the economy of Ukraine in 2018, says the report of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers for 2018, posted on the Government portal.
“Seven global companies announced about investments totaling $1.1 billion: Scatec Solar (Norway) – $315 million in solar power plants with a capacity of 251 MW in Cherkasy and Mykolaiv regions, Horizon Capital (USA) – $ 200 million, NBT (Norway ) – $173 million in the first phase (125 MW) of wind power plant in Kherson region, etc.,” the document says.
According to the Ukraine Investment Promotion Office, the investment portfolio of potential investors at the end of 2018 reached $2.8 billion. There are over 10 global companies among potential investors, such as IKEA (Sweden), Skoda (Czech Republic), GE Power (USA) and Wizz Air (Hungary).
As reported, investors have built 207 new plants in Ukraine over past four years. According to th FDI’s Return on Investment ranking Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, has entered top 10 the most successful European cities for return on budget investment.
