The parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany approved the creation of the fund, which is designed to help complete Gazprom’s gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, Zeit Online reported.

The fund will be able to purchase equipment and order services to remove other project contractors from possible US sanctions. According to the report, it is planned to spend about EUR 200,000 on this.

Previously, Norwegian company Det Norske Veritas – Germanischer Lloyd refused to certify Nord Stream 2.
