russian forces attacked a ground robotic complex [GRC] that was evacuating an elderly couple from the combat zone. Despite clear medical markings in the form of red crosses on the robot and its trailer, the occupiers repeatedly tried to destroy the evacuation vehicle. This was reported on Army TV by the head of the unmanned systems of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, Artem.
According to him, the troops of the 1st assault battalion found the elderly couple in a house. The woman was already wounded, and the settlement had been under constant artillery shelling by russian forces for a long time. The Ukrainian serviceman carried the injured woman in his arms, while her husband was placed into the ground robotic evacuation complex. The GRC was specially marked with red crosses as a medical vehicle.
As the serviceman said, most of the russian FPV drones that attacked the evacuation complex were destroyed by intercepting drones. At the same time, one unmanned vehicle still managed to hit the robotic complex.
After that, the adjacent unit K-2 joined the operation, providing a backup ground robotic complex and a crew. While preparations were being made for the second machine, civilians remained in the trailer of the damaged GRC, and the needed water and medicines were delivered to them by drones.
In the end, the evacuation was completed. The injured were handed over to medics, who provided them with assistance. As of now, according to the servicemen, their lives are not in danger.
