World Gymnastics, formerly the International Gymnastics Federation, has decided to lift all restrictions applicable to russian and Belarusian athletes since February 2022, with immediate effect.
The Executive Committee met in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, on 16-17 May 2026.Ever since the sport’s Olympic origins, World Gymnastics has been the governing body for Gymnastics worldwide recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Founded in 1881, it is the oldest established international federation of any Olympic sport.
