US democrats want to sanction russians over bounties for US troops

Senate Democrats introduced a bill to that would require Trump to impose sanctions on russian officials or entities that are involved in offering bounties for attacks on US troops to the Taliban.

Senators said they introduce the legislation because of the “Trump administration’s failure” to respond to reports of possible russian involvement in paying militants in Afghanistan for killing coalition troops there.

The bill is supposed to oblige Trump to impose sanctions on Vlaidmir putin or any other person who “offered, ordered, directed, or was otherwise responsible for bounties.” The bill is also said to force Trump slap penalties on “persons that facilitate illicit and corrupt activities on behalf of President putin, including oligarchs, political figures, and their family members.”
