Aerodynamic scientists are accused in russia of speaking at conferences abroad and publishing articles in foreign journals. They are suspected of treason, according to an open letter, which was published by their colleagues.

Their colleagues insist: the articles were always checked for classified information, and it was never there. And the scientists themselves, they say, are devoted patriots of russia.

The authors of the letter call for the charges against them to be dropped, because, in their opinion, this causes irreparable damage to russian science.

One of the previously imprisoned scientists, head of the laboratory of quantum optical technologies Dmitry Kolker, died in the cell, according to the letter.
