The occupation administration has officially begun transferring land plots in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region to participants of the so-called “special military operation.” The relevant mechanism has already been launched, and the occupation authorities are compiling a list of land plots and waiting lists for their allocation, the National Resistance Center reported.
Formally, this is presented as “social support for veterans.” In reality, however, it involves the distribution of land that belongs to Ukraine without any legal grounds. In this way, the occupation authorities are using the temporarily occupied territories as a resource to reward servicemen who took part in the war against Ukraine.The transfer of land plots is part of a broader policy aimed at entrenching russia’s presence in the occupied territories. In addition to providing material incentives to participants in the war, the occupation administration seeks to alter the demographic situation by settling the TOT with individuals loyal to the russian authorities.
